One will be amazed how the Vietnamese can let their children hang around without much attention and guidance. Either it is really a safe place to do so, or their child gets independent too soon, or the parents are just being too reckless.
No idea.

In fact, I do feel safer myself hanging my DSLR on my neck wandering in busy streets of Hanoi.
In KL, I rarely dare do that.
